I'm trying to work on my HTML::Weaver perl module, but I'm finding it really hard to concentrate. I've been out on my unicycle this morning and I think the physical exercise has sapped my normal morning caffeine induced concentration boost.
I've always said that I'm only capable of working on two and a half things at once. One is my job, the other seems to be unicycling, leaving only a half left for programming. I need to finish this module, but I'm loath to let my unicycle inspiration slip while I've got hold of it, especially during winter when it's so difficult to get motivated about anything that involves being outside. 2006-12-28 00:25:05
unicycle
I fell off my unicycle today. Coming off my unicycle isn't unusual, but I've only ever fallen off twice before. The first time was the day I got my unicycle - I twisted my ankle so badly I couldn't walk properly for two days, the other was nothing special, just some skin off my palms.
So this is something unusual I suppose, I even managed to graze my knee through my pants - trousers for our UK readership - without tearing them. I haven't grazed my knee for years. 2006-12-25 12:21:41

Again this year Elisse and I celebrated Christmas on the 24th in the evening. We had a wonderful dinner of smoked salmon, quail and a chocolate pastry chocolate ganache tart with berry coulis. Needless to say Elisse and I both felt dreadfully obese afterwards.
Elisse got me a Pedro Almodóvar collection DVD set, a hardcover of the His Dark Materials trilogy and some delicious looking florentines from the Chocolate Society. Merry Christmas everyone, and have a great new year. 2006-12-20 21:37:15

I've been extra busy at work the last couple of weeks, we've moved roughly 70 people around the building, with a move almost every day last week, plus the usual work to get done in between.
The Titan christmas party of last Friday too, it was great to go out and relax with everybody, all getting suitably intoxicated - aside from Gary, as usual - and having a great time. I even won a couple of things at the raffle this year, a £10 HMV voucher, which might just buy a CD at their prices, and a big book on the 25 years of Friday the 13th films. I've not actually seen any Friday the 13th films, so I'm not sure how interesting the book will be. That's it for now, just a quick note so Elisse stops complaining - rightfully so - about me not posting. I'm off to help cook dinner and have some more mulled wine. 2006-12-19 08:48:58

Come winter (which starts sometime in September and ends in about June) it seems to be very hard to get anything done in this country. Every time I have good intentions, something - the cold, the dark, the miserable people - knocks it right out of me before I've even begun. Thus my excuse for not having practiced properly for weeks, for eating lots of naughty things and being far too cold/sad/lazy to exercise them off, and for leaving a trillion things undone, as I'm usually so overwhelmed I don't even know where to begin. NOW I really understand the reasoning behind new years' resolutions.
There's only 2 weeks until Christmas, and I'll be back in Spain in 16 days. Fabulous repertoire, fabulous people (except all the ones that aren't coming back!!) and amazing places to go. But somewhere between worrying about the heating bills, making 6 potatoes last a week and those goddamn mice I've lost the mental image that keeps me going. Stupid, stupid country. 2006-12-05 21:11:14

I can't believe it's December already, the last year seems to have disappeared. Extra busy at work for the next couple of weeks, we're moving a whole bunch of people back to a floor that's been refurbished and then off another floor that's due to be refurbished.
Too long since I've posted, but I've not really got much more to say. 2006-12-01 09:40:38

After too many years to recall, my last pair of pyjama pants have finally ripped and died a horrible horrible death. That's the last and probably most important item of clothing that I now don't own because my poor status forces me to decide between eating dinner and covering my body. I'd much rather eat dinner.
